Dr. Schnatterbeck is the psychologist at Sheridan High School.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Living in a city with over 2 million people has allowed me to paint with broad strokes when I form opinions about people’s experiences. I have always been a student of human behavior. Open water lifeguarding provided great initial lessons in how people and teams respond to crises under pressure. Future life courses included working in primate research, juvenile corrections, residential treatment, outpatient mental health, and education. All of these experiences have reinforced my belief that ALL people deserve a chance to reach their goals. As a psychologist, I am a licensed mental health professional who supports student’s academic and mental health well-being. I help students learn and teachers teach by:
- Identifying obstacles to academic, social, and emotional development
- Assessing learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and emotional challenges
- Developing and implementing strategies to address these issues
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators
